JOIN US ON A ROADTRIP THAT'S SURE TO BE A LITTLE DIFFERENT.

This year, PEMCO Insurance is sending teams of genuine Northwest-loving people to community events and activities across the state. Some are in support of a good cause, some just sound like a good time - but either way, we hope you'll stop by and say hi. Look for us wherever you see the big green PEMCO van. And if we miss each other, drop us a note here and tell us what's on your mind.

Remember, there's no place quite like home, especially this time of year. So get out there and enjoy!

Sounders vs. New York Red Bulls: A Poetic Start to the Season

April 5, 2010 1:47pm
Brad, Caity and I braved the April showers on Saturday as the Seattle Sounders took on the New York Red Bulls at Qwest Field. If there's one thing we've learned from Sounders fans this season, it's that it takes more than a little rain to keep true fans away from a match! The energy outside the stadium before kick-off was a frenzy of blue and green, and we had a great time chatting with the legions of fans who stopped by the PEMCO booth for a free souvenir photo and a respite from the windy weather.

One passionate fan we met was Grant, a NW Profile #41 Utility Kilter from Puyallup, who wore Braveheart-inspired face paint and a kilt "to help win the fight," he explained. His passion for the game inspired us to whip-up some Sounders poetry, dedicated to our favorite soccer team and our favorite kilt-wearing fan:

Washed by Sound Wave down the street,
Fans are swept up in the boisterous beat,
In green and blue and so well dressed,
They march on to the gates of Qwest.

Arms raised high, elbows locked,
Soggy knits, sandals, socks,
They've left umbrellas in their cars,
And soak up the rain with their scarves.

Kilted warriors spotted in the crowd,
Like Boeing jets they scream aloud,
Painted faces green and blue,
Sounders fans are coming through!

Super-fan Grant is ready to lead the Sounders charge

We had a great time snapping fan photos on Saturday, and we'll be back at Qwest Field on April 17 when the Sounders take on the Kansas City Wizards. So grab your friends, don your best Sounders gear and stop by the WALLY1 van at the Northwest entrance for your free souvenir pictures. We'll see you there!
